Hi! I’m Sophia, a current MD student at Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern alum. I graduated summa cum laude with honors in Biology and received the Irving Klotz Prize for Basic Research for my honors thesis. I was also selected to carry the Biology banner at graduation in recognition of my academic achievement. During my junior year, I was accepted into Feinberg through Northwestern’s Premedical Scholars Program.

I’ve spent years immersed in the medical school application process, both as an applicant and as someone who has supported others through it. My experience spans building a strong pre-med foundation, identifying meaningful clinical and research opportunities, and crafting personal statements, activity descriptions, secondary essays, and interview preparation. Having gone through the process myself and helped friends successfully navigate it, I understand how overwhelming and high-stakes it can feel, and how much clarity and support can make a difference. I love seeing the students I’ve advised receive their acceptances.

I specialize in personal statement editing, application strategy, activity descriptions, interview preparation, and individualized advising for pre-med and medical school applicants. I also work with college applicants, though my primary focus is guiding students through the medical school path.

Beyond academics, I’ve served as a teaching assistant, student leader, and mentor across multiple organizations, including pre-med advising groups and leadership roles at Northwestern and Chicago-based organizations. My approach focuses not just on helping students present themselves well on paper, but on helping them articulate their story in a way that is authentic, compelling, and true to who they are.

Whether you’re preparing for medical school applications, refining your personal statement, getting ready for interviews, or navigating your next steps as a pre-med student, I’d love to help you build an application that feels both strong and true to you.

College Counseling

I am a current MD candidate at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern University graduate, offering personalized college counseling and academic advising for high school students applying to selective universities. I was admitted to Northwestern through its highly competitive admissions process and later selected for the Premedical Scholars Program, earning early admission to Feinberg during my junior year of college. I graduated summa cum laude with honors in Biology with a 3.99 GPA and was a QuestBridge Scholar at Northwestern University. My honors distinction was earned through a year-long senior thesis in biomaterials science, which received the Irving Klotz Prize for Basic Research in recognition of its originality and scholarly writing quality. I have supported students through the college application process, including school list development, personal statements, extracurricular positioning, and overall application narrative development. I also help students think strategically about academic planning, long-term goals, and how to position themselves for competitive undergraduate admissions. My advising style is structured, individualized, and detail-oriented. I focus on helping students build strong, authentic applications while also learning how to clearly communicate their experiences, interests, and goals in a compelling way.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I am a current MD candidate at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a Northwestern University graduate offering personalized support for medical school applications, including personal statements, secondaries, activities sections, and interview preparation. I was selected for Northwestern’s highly competitive Premedical Scholars Program during my junior year of college, earning early admission to Feinberg and gaining firsthand experience with what makes an application stand out in a selective admissions process. I graduated summa cum laude with honors in Biology with a 3.99 GPA, and my honors distinction was awarded through a year-long senior thesis in biomaterials science. My thesis received the Irving Klotz Prize for Basic Research in recognition of its originality and scholarly writing quality, and strong writing has been a major part of both my academic success and my approach to mentoring students through application essays. I have helped students gain admission to medical and pre-health programs through individualized advising on AMCAS applications, personal statements, activities sections, school lists, and interview preparation. I offer less than 24-hour turnaround for primary application essays and provide detailed feedback on content, organization, clarity, grammar, punctuation, and style while keeping each student’s authentic voice at the center of the process. I am detail-oriented, flexible, and always tailor my feedback to each student’s specific goals and needs, helping them build applications that feel both polished and genuinely their own.
