Figuring out what story to tell? Want to bring more humanity—or AI—into your writing practice? Need to optimize for the quick scan? As a McGill University graduate with an interfaculty degree in Chemistry and Anthropology, I bring a deep interdisciplinary perspective to your application materials. I once pursued medicine myself, but I walked out of the MCAT because I realized I loved writing about medicine more than I loved medicine itself. That moment of self discovery is what I help you find on the page.
I won my first writing competition when I was 12 years old. Korean literature classes at Cornell and Harvard University still use my piece in their curriculum. I haven't stopped writing since. At McGill, I focused my studies on Medical Anthropology and Critical Public Health. In healthcare, I have experience as both a medical assistant and a clinic manager. My patients said my clinic was the smoothest they've ever seen the clinic run. Most recently, I have been working as a UX writer and designer in the health tech, real estate, and renewable energy spaces.
I tailor every engagement to where you are in your process. If we're starting from scratch, my method involves discovery conversations and journaling exercises to dig deeper into the prompt. If we're starting with a written essay, we'll work together to determine what kind of feedback would be the most helpful for you. Some people need structural overhaul, some need to stop hiding behind clinical language, and some need to stop over-editing and apply already. I meet you where you are.
I do virtual sessions 1:1 or in small groups of 3-4.
