Hi! My name is Jamie R. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher and looking to provide my tutoring services over the summer.
I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence Education, an endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language, and a certificate in Disability Services and Rights. My focus was learning how to teach to all types of students and make the classroom a safe space for all my students to learn and thrive.
After I graduated college, I spent a year in Spain teaching English. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level and I am continuing to take weekly classes to improve!
Currently, I work as a 3rd grade teacher. I teach students of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. I have many students in my class whose first language is not English. I find ways to make learning accessible to all my students based on needs and learning styles. I teach all subjects in my classroom: math, ELA, science, social studies, and individualized intervention.
I am looking to tutor students who are currently in elementary school. I can plan lessons and activities covering all subject areas: including math, writing, and reading. I have the benefit of having my school curriculum, materials, and resources to best support the students I tutor.
I am enthusiastic, hands-on, and very invested! I work hard to provide my students with the support, both academically and social-emotionally, that they need.
