Hello! My name is Tommy and I am an academic jack of all trades!
I attended a prestigious STEM-focused high school, taking 10 AP courses across mathematics, social sciences, language, and economics. I then graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science where I earned a BSc in International Relations. I went on to attend UCLA where I earned a Master of Urban and Regional Planning.
At UCLA I was a teaching assistant for both undergraduate and graduate students, in both quantitative and social science courses. I have recently worked at an afterschool math center as both a 1:1 and group instructor as well as an Assistant Center Director, working with PreK-12 students.
I've led classrooms, small groups, and provided 1:1 tutoring. Each of these has given me experience understanding how different students work and I am able to easily pivot to meet students where they are. I believe students' success comes from within, so I prioritize continuous and gradual learning as well as foundational mastery.
