Teaching students to grow and excel is my passion. I myself grew up overseas where access to quality education was very rare. Because I have lived in three different continents, I have a wide range of schooling experience as we moved frequently. I have gone through homeschooling, co-op, private, online, and public schooling. Having graduated high school with a 4.0, I decided I wanted a degree that specialized in helping people. My experience and expertise came from babysitting, nannying, and teaching students from the ages of four months to 12 years for the past 11 years of my life. Therefore, the obvious choice was to go into Elementary Education.
I have currently completed three and a half years of college at Moody Bible Institute in Elementary Education. In-between completing my final step of student teaching, I decided to continue helping students be confident and excel in their schoolwork by tutoring. As part of graduation requirements, I have completed over 50 hours of classroom help and observation; three years worth of tutoring and teaching once a week at numerous after-school programs in the city of Chicago; well familiar with Common Core State Standards; and I have taught 5th grade for my junior internship. An important tool that I have become fluent in for the purpose of quality instruction, customized for each student, is lesson planning. In addition to teaching, I am also CPR certified.
The skills students learn in classrooms are essential for success in every-day life.
