I hold a Master’s degree in education and am a certified special education teacher with extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a structured, multisensory method proven to support students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. My academic background and professional training have equipped me with a strong foundation in literacy development, differentiated instruction, and individualized learning strategies. I am passionate about helping students build confidence while developing essential reading and writing skills.
I currently work as a special education teacher and case manager, where I support a diverse group of learners with varying academic and social-emotional needs. I have over 12 years of experience working in both classroom and small-group settings, as well as providing one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s goals. My teaching approach is highly individualized, incorporating multisensory techniques, explicit instruction, and ongoing progress monitoring to ensure students are making meaningful growth. I also have experience supporting students with IEPs, collaborating with families, and adapting instruction to meet unique learning profiles.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with elementary-aged students, particularly those who are struggling with reading, writing, and foundational literacy skills. I have provided targeted interventions in both school and tutoring settings, helping students strengthen phonics, fluency, and comprehension. I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel successful and motivated, and I take pride in helping them build both skills and confidence that carry over into the classroom and beyond.
