Hello students!
My name is Jack, and I'm here to help you become a better writer. I graduated magna cum laude from Butler University in 2019 with a major in middle secondary special education, and am nearly finished with a master's course in educational leadership. This is my 7th year teaching middle school math/reading here in Chicago, with the bulk of my experience centering around small group/one on one instruction. My teaching style is relaxed and comfortable, though my standard for success is set consistently high. While l pride myself most in my ability to foster meaningful connections with my students, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my classes have some of the best standardized test growth in the entire city.
So, what makes me qualified to tutor essay writers? For starters, I simply love words. The process of taking an abstract idea and transforming it into something concrete feels like magic. Throughout my schooling experience, writing was easily my favorite subject, and the class where I most often found success. When AP English tests rolled around, I was the only student in my grade to receive a perfect score on the written portion. I scored similarly on the writing section of the ACT, and wrote a college essay so strong that Butler's recruiting team came to my house to hand deliver my acceptance letter. By the end of college, I was a self-made, freelance essay writer, and for a price, could write about any topic from just about any major.
While the classroom is home, one of my favorite teaching experiences so far has been online essay tutoring. A few years ago, I guided a high school senior through the daunting task of crafting personal statements. After several online sessions, we turned his rigid, choppy essays into colorful anecdotes about life. Eventually, he got accepted (with scholarships) to: USC, Stanford, Purdue, University of Illinois, and Penn State. Whether it's an essay for class, or getting into your dream school, let me help you reach new, written heights!
