I'm a writer and tutor with nearly a decade of experience helping students at every level improve their reading and writing skills and discover where language can take them. I hold a B.A. in Literary Studies with a concentration in Non-Fiction Writing and a minor in Race & Ethnicity from The New School's Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, where I was also faculty-nominated to serve as an Academic Fellow for a required 3000-level course — co-building the syllabus, leading seminar discussions, and working one-on-one with students on longform writing, critical feedback, and revision.
My tutoring experience spans K–12, university-level, and adult learners, including volunteer work, in-person and remotely across Chicago, New York City, and beyond. One of my specialties is admissions essays at every level, with acceptances at WashU Law, NYU, UChicago, and Northwestern, among others — I particularly love supporting test-optional applicants in submitting essays that make their applications competitive.
My approach is student-centered and culturally responsive. As a digital native, I use culture, trends, and the touchstones students already care about to make unfamiliar texts click. I focus on developing independent skills rather than just fixing a single paper. I have experience supporting students with ADHD, adult learners returning to school, and ESL writers, adapting my methods to fit how each person actually learns best. Reading and writing are muscles, and I'm passionate about helping every student build them.
