Greetings and welcome to my profile! I am Tino, a bilingual Chemical engineer with both a Bachelors degree in Science and a Masters degree in Science. I am proud to say that I graduated with summa cum laude honors. From my years in education, I have come to understand that nothing is a substitute for a good teacher, as the lessons coming from a good teacher are difficult to forget. To this day, I still remember vividly my good teachers from school, their names, their lessons: such was the impression they made on me. When students understand the why's of things, they will retain more and perform better. It is my aspiration, to have my students learn the reason of every concept, so that they can perform better and be successful in their academic goals.

Yes, I do have an engineering background which will be certainly helpful in teaching Math and Science concepts. But more importantly, I have extensive experience in tutoring young and adults. There is no more satisfaction to be had than when you see someone's eyes lit as they understand a concept or an idea. I have tutored and mentored students since my teen years, I was an adjunct teacher in my alma matter university and I am currently part of the pool of volunteers of the Chicago Public School tutoring program. Most of my teaching experience has been face to face but I am familiar and have used technology for remote tutoring.

First and foremost comes understanding thoroughly the students' needs. I offer a free preliminary consultation session where we discuss the student's objectives. Then, I design an overall plan to achieve these objectives. Finally, I carefully design lesson plans, one for every session: a clear, specific goal to be achieved at the end of the lesson and the step-by-step plan to get there. I am known for being patient and results driven. The only measure of my success is to know that my student is successful. Schedule a free consultation today and let us get on this journey!
