Hi! I’m Natalie, a third-year student studying Astrophysics at the University of Chicago. I’m passionate about working with students at their own pace and creating an encouraging, enthusiastic learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. In high school, I earned a 36 on the ACT Reading and English sections and a 5 on the AP English Literature exam. Through my academic background and tutoring experience, I’m well-versed in reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, and standardized test strategies.
While reading and writing have always come naturally to me, I chose to challenge myself in college by pursuing astrophysics. Although science and math have always interested me, they didn’t come as easily at first—giving me a strong understanding of what it feels like to struggle with a subject and how to work through it step by step.
I have two years of experience tutoring high school students online in all sections of the ACT and SAT, as well as reviewing essays for classes and college applications. My teaching approach focuses on fostering curiosity and building strong problem-solving skills. I adapt my methods to each student’s learning style, and emphasize breaking problems into smaller steps and talking through thought processes.
If you’re looking for support in your writing skills, test-taking strategies, or need to review concepts in math and science, I’m happy to help! Please feel free to reach out with any questions and I will respond as soon as possible.
