I have a strong academic foundation in mathematics and economics, having earned a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours from McGill University, where I completed advanced coursework in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, graph theory, topology, econometrics, and higher-level economics. My academic training emphasized rigorous reasoning, clear mathematical communication, and problem solving, all of which directly inform how I tutor. I am particularly comfortable breaking down abstract or technical concepts into intuitive steps that students can engage with and build confidence from.
My teaching experience spans both formal academic settings and applied educational environments. At McGill University, I served as a course assistant for Analysis I and Discrete Mathematics, where I provided feedback on students’ written work, supported learning outcomes, and helped students develop clarity and precision in their mathematical thinking. In addition, I worked as an educator and administrator at an educational summer camp, teaching and mentoring students ranging from ages 7 to 17 in both group and individual contexts. This experience required adapting explanations to different age groups, learning styles, and levels of prior knowledge, while maintaining an encouraging and structured learning environment.
Across my tutoring and teaching experiences, I have worked one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom-style settings. I focus on identifying where a student’s understanding breaks down, addressing misconceptions directly, and helping students develop systems for thinking through problems independently. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students succeed in a specific subject, but to make complex material feel approachable, logical, and even enjoyable over time.
