My name is Gabriela, and I am a bilingual educator with over fifteen years of experience working with elementary-aged students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I hold a Doctorate in Education and have extensive training in literacy development, English language acquisition, and instructional best practices for young learners. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with students in prek through 8th grade, supporting reading, writing, phonics, and academic language development. I currently work as a bilingual and English learner specialist, where I provide targeted academic support to students and coaching to teachers.

My teaching and tutoring experience includes working with English learners, bilingual students, and children who need additional support with foundational reading skills and confidence-building. I use research-based instructional strategies such as explicit phonics instruction, guided reading, vocabulary development, and language scaffolds to help students access grade-level content. I tailor each session to the student’s needs, using visuals, modeling, repetition, and interactive activities to ensure understanding and engagement. I have experience tutoring students individually and in small groups, both in person and virtually.

As a bilingual educator fluent in English and Spanish, I am able to provide instruction and clarification in both languages when appropriate, which is especially helpful for English learners and bilingual families. I believe tutoring should be structured, supportive, and encouraging, helping students not only improve academically but also gain confidence in their abilities. My goal is to create a positive learning experience where students feel successful, supported, and motivated to grow.
