I hold a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science with a concentration in Bioinformatics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. My doctoral research focused on environmental exposures and maternal–child health, combining biology, statistics, and data analysis. I also earned a BA in Biochemistry with a concentration in Political Science from CUNY Hunter College, giving me a strong foundation in both STEM coursework and analytical reading and writing. I am currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. My advanced training allows me to explain complex scientific and quantitative concepts in clear, accessible ways tailored to each student’s learning style.

I have extensive experience teaching and mentoring students in science, math, and academic writing, both formally and informally. My teaching approach emphasizes:
Breaking down complex concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations
Building confidence and problem-solving skills, not memorization
Adjusting explanations to match a student’s pace and learning style
Teaching students how to think, not just what to answer
As a PhD-trained researcher, I regularly teach through:
One-on-one mentoring
Guided problem solving
Conceptual explanations using real-world examples
Structured feedback on writing, problem sets, and exams
I am exceptionally skilled at helping students who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or discouraged regain confidence and clarity.

Approved Subjects

Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science and am a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with extensive experience breaking down complex ideas into simple, age-appropriate lessons. I help K–6 students build strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and science by focusing on confidence, curiosity, and clear explanations. My approach is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized to each child’s learning style. I aim to make learning engaging and supportive while reinforcing core skills that set students up for long-term success.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

I hold a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science and am currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with specialized expertise in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other environmental toxicants. My research examines PFAS exposure assessment, biomonitoring, and their effects on stress physiology, placental biology, and child health outcomes. I help students understand how PFAS are measured, how exposure data are analyzed, and how to critically interpret environmental health studies. My teaching emphasizes connecting environmental chemistry and toxicology concepts to real-world health impacts and policy relevance.
Epidemiology

Epidemiology

I hold a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science and am currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with extensive training in epidemiologic methods and applied data analysis. My research experience includes cohort studies, environmental and infectious disease epidemiology, and analysis of real-world health data across diverse populations. I help students understand study design, bias and confounding, regression modeling, and interpretation of epidemiologic results. My teaching style emphasizes clear intuition, practical examples, and building the skills needed to critically evaluate and conduct epidemiologic research.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I hold a PhD and am a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with extensive experience teaching academic and essay writing across grade levels. I help students develop clear thesis statements, strong structure, and well-supported arguments while improving grammar and clarity. My approach emphasizes outlining, revision strategies, and building confidence in expressing ideas in writing. I tailor feedback to each student’s age and goals, from elementary through college-level essays.
SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

SHSAT (NY HS admissions)

I took the SHSAT and got into the High School for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering at City College from 2012-2016. AFterwards, I obtained a BA in biochemistry from CUNY Hunter College and a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Sociology

Sociology

I hold a PhD and am a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with strong training in sociological concepts and research-based analysis. I help students understand core topics such as social inequality, institutions, culture, and the relationship between society and health. My approach emphasizes critical thinking, clear writing, and applying sociological theories to real-world examples. I tailor lessons to each student’s level, from introductory high school courses to college-level sociology.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I hold a PhD in Translational Biomedical Science and am currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago, with extensive experience guiding students through thesis and dissertation writing. I have mentored undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students in developing research questions, structuring arguments, and clearly communicating complex ideas. My expertise includes outlining, literature synthesis, scientific writing, data interpretation, and revising drafts for clarity, coherence, and academic rigor. I focus on helping students build confidence, stay organized, and move efficiently from early drafts to polished, submission-ready work.
