Welcome, students! My name is Yasmine H, and I’m a student teacher resident with the AUSL and DePaul University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, and I’m working toward my master’s in Education with a focus on Science Education. Before my teaching residency, I worked as an in-class City Year tutor, helping students master math competencies and grade-appropriate academic writing. Through my experiences as an educator, I’ve learned to elicit critical, application-based thinking and long-term memory retention in my students.
I use a flexible tutoring approach (modeling/scaffolding, lecture-style, or student-led), and I plan lessons based on assignment/assessment rubrics and standards.
