I am a medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine with a strong background in the sciences, clinical reasoning, and academic writing. Before medical school, I earned my bachelor’s degree with a focus on biology and health sciences, and I have continued to build on that foundation through rigorous coursework, clinical training, and research in urology, oncology, and public health. As a bilingual speaker of English and Spanish, I value clear communication and enjoy helping students understand complex concepts in ways that feel approachable and intuitive.
My teaching experience includes tutoring undergraduate students in biology, chemistry, and writing, as well as mentoring pre-medical students on study strategies, application planning, and professional development. In medical school, I regularly guide first- and second-year students through clinical skills, early exposure to specialty fields, and evidence-based approaches to learning. I’ve also taught in community settings, including volunteer clinics and educational workshops, where I adapt my teaching style to students ranging from high school learners to adult participants. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I focus on building confidence, fostering critical thinking, and breaking down challenging material into manageable, well-structured steps.
I tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students grow academically and personally. My approach is supportive, patient, and highly tailored to each student’s goals, whether they need help mastering science coursework, improving writing and communication skills, or preparing for their journey into the health professions. My goal is always to empower students with not only the right knowledge, but the right tools to thrive long after our sessions end.
