Hello! My name is Isabella and I am a passionate and student-centered educator. I have 2 years of experience teaching elementary school reading, math, science, and social studies.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2023 from the University of Southern California, where I majored in Cognitive Science with a minor in Behavioral Economics. I was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society my junior year and worked for an Education Research Group examining the relationship between student autonomy and their overall well-being. I then joined Teach For America where I taught first-grade while simultaneously earning my Master of Arts in Teaching at National Louis University. I graduated with my Master’s Degree in May 2025 with a 4.0 GPA and my Professional Educator License.
I believe that every student learns differently and benefits from individualized support to not only succeed but thrive and develop an intrinsic appreciation for learning. My approach to tutoring is to work closely with students to establish rigorous goals, utilize multiple means of engagement to meet those goals, and equip them with the tools and strategies to become more confident learners. In addition to careful planning of developmentally appropriate lessons, I am intentional about using research-based instructional strategies and consistently reflecting on student progress. My ultimate goal is to help students both accomplish their academic goals and grow their confidence in their abilities as a learner.
