I have taught students from 7 years old to adults, ranging in skill level from very beginner to intermediate/advanced. For young and beginner students, I primarily use method books for the foundational work and supplement with fun pieces in the style of their choice. I also use games and fun exercises to keep the students engaged and improve knowledge retention.
For intermediate and more advanced students we craft the work through a combination of pieces spanning a variety of eras to work on the skillset of focus. We also work on a wildcard piece in the style of the student's choice for fun.
In my free time, I am on the music team in an all women's barbershop chorus where I help set the strategic direction for the music we select, teach my section our part, and do individual voice lessons as needed. I love being able to bring joy to my musical experience and that of my chorus.
I love to find ways to connect with students and bring out their joy through music.
