I started my career teaching High school chemistry and physics, which I did for four years. I then returned to school to earn my PhD in organic chemistry. After teaching at a few small liberal arts colleges, I joined the faculty at Northwestern University, where I remained until I retired after 22 years. Practical Matters
As an older student who hasn't had a Chemistry class since the 90's, stepping back into college life in general is overwhelming. To take a Chemistry class three decades later is anxiety-inducing, to say the least. Owen is amazingly patient and versatile in learning methods. He is very personable, often checking in during the lesson to ensure you're understanding. He can relate these lessons to practical matters if that's how you learn. It is how I learn. He takes the time to find your comfort level and works from there. I am gaining confidence in my Chemistry learning and hope to keep climbing!
