Hi, I'm Alexandria! I graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette with my B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology with a minor in Foods and Nutrition in 2022 and I earned spots on the Dean's list as well as Semester Honors multiple times. I also received my Master's of Science in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience from Purdue in 2025.

My experience teaching began in a classroom setting as a lab oratory undergraduate teaching assistant where I would help my peers understand the assignments and course material I had taken the year before as well as help them prepare for quizzes and exams. I kept this role for two semesters until I began my graduate education and became a graduate teaching assistant. At this level I was responsible for hosting weekly office hours dedicated to helping students understand the current material and assignments and I would also host periodic review sessions to help students prepare for upcoming exams. In addition to material comprehension I also helped create assignments and exam questions, allowing me to gain a better understanding of what exam questions are trying to target and what key words and phrases a professor finds important. This skill was quite helpful and allowed students to identify key topics and areas in the class to focus on when preparing for cumulative final exams. Throughout my time teaching I enjoyed my interactions with students who had gone through the same program that I had and helping them succeed with their course work.

I hope to help my students as much as possible and would appreciate any suggestions or resources that can be provided in advance, allowing me to create a detailed lesson plan. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I will respond promptly!

Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I completed a Bachelor's of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology in 2022 and earned a Master's of Biology with a Concentration in Neuroscience in 2025. During this time, I also completed two years of research in a Neuroscience lab with Dr. Daniel Suter and served as a teaching assistant for an entry-level Neurobiology class. Throughout my research and teaching experience I learned how to convey Neuroscience topics and associated laboratory techniques to my peers and younger students, helping them to grow and apply these topics to their own work.
Nutrition

Nutrition

While earning my degree in Neurobiology I completed a minor in Foods and Nutrition where I took classes on public health, the fundamentals of nutrition, food science, and how nutrition relates to disease. These classes allowed me to engage in multi-faceted discussions on health policy and how much nutrition impacts our health, enhancing my understanding of anatomy and biological subjects. Finally, as a graduate student I continued my nutrition education by taking a global nutrition problems course, focusing on literature reviews and argumentative writing.
