Hello! I'm Jenn, a creative and enthusiastic educator who loves working with students of all ages. I have an MA in English Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. I've been an educator for 30 years and have taught for a range of purposes in a variety of settings, including: K-12 public schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, arts and community centers, and summer camps. I'm a published and award-winning author, former education director, and former high school English teacher. I’ve tutored at high school and college writing centers and taught a course for high school students to support them in writing college entrance essays. I have tutored ESL students in grammar, vocabulary, speaking and writing.

Courses I have taught include: Intro to Poetry, Poetic Forms, Poetry in Translation, Poetry + Mathematics, Prose Poetry, English Composition, British Literature, World Literature, and The Teaching Artist in School and Community Settings. I also developed a meditation and yoga curriculum and taught it to K-12 students. I've led poetry professional development nationally for K-12 teachers. My background also includes providing copyediting and proofreading services for museums, authors, artists, and business owners.

What I most love about tutoring is working one-on-one, getting to know my students, seeing their confidence grow as they make progress, and supporting them in accomplishing their goals.
