With a robust background in science and engineering education, I bring a unique blend of expertise to tutoring. I hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.A. in Secondary Science Education with a focus on Physics from the University of Colorado.
I am a licensed Secondary Science Education teacher in both Colorado (Physics, Secondary Math Ed.) and Illinois (Physics, Chemistry, Gen-Science). My diverse academic foundation allows me to approach subjects from multiple angles, making complex concepts more accessible and engaging for students.
I have over 15 years of experience teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across various settings, from high school classrooms to university lecture halls and informal educational programs. My teaching career began in 2001 at the Science Museum of Minnesota, where I taught engaging classes to students aged 6-12.
Subsequently, I spent many years as a high school teacher, instructing subjects like Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics, Robotics, and Geometry at schools in the Cherry Creek and Boulder Valley School Districts. Currently, I am a Physics and Engineering Teacher at the Chicago Public School District's Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center, integrating modeling physics and design thinking principles.
I have also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Colorado School of Mines and EcoTech Institute, teaching Digital Electronics and other engineering courses to college-level students.
I have been teaching high school and AP and IB Physics since 2008.
