Bio

I am a 4th year US MD student who is passionate about student learning and mentorship. I scored in the 90th percentile on the USMLE Step 2 CK and got honors in my Surgery, Family Medicine, OB-Gyn, Psychiatry, ENT, and Pediatrics rotations. I also passed my USMLE Step 1 Exam on the first attempt. Most recently, I have been a tutor through my school’s academic center for excellence supporting underclassmen with school specific materials, shelf exams, and USMLE Step 1 and 2. I was also a student in an elective dedicated to preparing 2nd year medical students for the Step 1 Board Exam. Working through practice questions and having a deeper understanding of students knowledge base is core to my tutoring practice. I have experience tutoring remotely and volunteered during the COVID-19 pandemic supporting K-12 students who had fallen behind in school. I've also volunteered teaching 1st grade students in East LA how to read English. Patience, positivity, and practicality are the 3 P's I find integral to my tutoring style.

Previously, I worked as a clinical research coordinator at UCSF where I was fortunate to publish over a dozen research publications. To get a deeper understanding of the human body prior to medical school, I completed a master of science in medical physiology from Loyola University Chicago. I graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a degree in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. While there, I studied nanoparticles as a treatment for allergic airway disease. I'm originally from Huntington Beach, CA and enjoy all things outdoors. Outside of the hospital, I can often be found running, skiing, hiking, and surfing. I love playing basketball, and I'm a big fan of the Lakers & UCLA Bruins. My partner and I love trying new recipes and trying new restaurants in Chicago. Looking forward to bringing positivity and enthusiasm to our sessions!
