My name is Hannah, and I recently completed a dual Master's degree program at the University of Chicago. I received a Master's in Public Policy (MPP) with Honors and a Master's in Middle East Studies. I also attended Northwestern University, where I studied History and Middle East and North African Studies. Between my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I held a variety of positions in operations and administration in the non-profit sphere.
I previously tutored English as a second language for adults and found it to be an extremely rewarding experience. Even in a short time, I saw the power that additional one-on-one support can give to a student. I believe in adjusting style to the specific needs of the student and finding the techniques that resonate with the individual. Education and learning are highly personal, and I want to provide this personal experience to my students.
I also believe that tutoring one-on-one is more than just getting the answers to the specific assignment, but is an opportunity to gain critical thinking skills that can be applied to a variety of subjects. I want my students to be able to take the skills they gain in tutoring and use them both inside and outside the classroom.
