I'm Jacob! I recently completed my M.Div. at the University of Chicago Divinity School, and graduated from Guilford College with a BA, where I majored in Accounting and Religious Studies. I have career experience in both religious studies (as well as specifically Christian and Jewish spaces) and in accounting. As a Teaching Assistant, what I most enjoyed about my experience was the opportunity to work one on one with students or with a small group, helping them to fully access and internalize the subject. Whether this means unlocking the meaning behind difficult readings, learning and practicing specific skills, or growing in confidence and competency to perform better in the classroom, I thoroughly enjoy working with students. As a student, I came to appreciate the value of working with a TA or tutor one on one, spending time on difficult problems or skills. This can be the difference between barely getting by and really achieving proficiency that will allow the student to perform exceptionally in the classroom.
I am eager to collaborate with both students and parents, to work as a team to benefit your education! When I work with students I always look forward to learning from and with you as well, as we work together to determine the most successful approach for you!
