Hello! I’m Anthony, an experienced, compassionate educator with a Master’s in English Education and over six years of teaching students from all walks of life—from 5th graders to college freshmen. Whether I’m helping a student decode complex texts, craft a powerful essay, or simply believe in their own voice, I bring clarity, patience, and purpose to every session.

My approach is human-centered and rooted in equity. I’ve taught in diverse schools, worked with learners who have special needs, and know how to adapt lessons to meet academic, developmental, and emotional goals. I don’t just teach content—I help students build confidence, curiosity, and lasting skills.

I specialize in English Language Arts, creative and nonfiction writing, grammar, essay development, and reading comprehension. My sessions are customized, interactive, and structured around what each student needs most. I’ve taught in classrooms and colleges, trained teams in professional settings, and mentored learners with a wide range of goals and challenges. Parents appreciate my ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and deliver meaningful progress with warmth and humor. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore how we can work together. Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I help students become more confident creative writers by meeting them where they are and supporting their individual process. We focus on developing voice, clarity, and specific detail through conversation, guided writing, and revision. I work especially well with students who feel blocked, unsure, or disconnected from traditional writing instruction. My goal is to help students trust their ideas, reduce resistance, and build sustainable creative habits. I have formal training in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction and continue to work actively as a writer.
English

English

I am a patient, adaptive English teacher who meets students where they are and builds learning through trust and collaboration. I focus on understanding how each student thinks and helping them develop confident, flexible thinking habits. My approach supports students who struggle with traditional classrooms, writer’s block, or rigid learning systems. We work through ideas together, reduce resistance, and build skills that translate to classroom success and self-expression.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I help students develop clear, well-structured essays by strengthening how they think and express ideas. We focus on specificity, replacing vague language with precise claims that improve coherence and depth. Conversation is used to develop ideas, followed by guided drafting and refinement for clarity and structure. This approach builds confidence and supports strong academic writing across subjects.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I help students develop compelling fiction by strengthening voice, specificity, and clarity of expression. We use conversation to explore ideas, characters, and scenes before translating them to the page. I guide students in replacing vague language with precise details that deepen meaning and bring stories to life. This approach builds confidence, reduces creative blocks, and supports strong narrative flow.
Grammar

Grammar

I teach grammar as a tool for building clear, confident sentences rather than as a set of rigid rules. We focus on foundational sentence structures and intuitive language patterns before introducing academic terminology as needed. By grounding grammar in meaning and relevance, students learn to trust their instincts while strengthening clarity and correctness. This approach reduces fear and supports stronger writing overall.
Literature

Literature

I help students engage with literature through discussion, curiosity, and perspective rather than memorization or “right answers.” We explore ideas by distinguishing fact from opinion and practicing interpretation without pressure. Students are encouraged to consider multiple viewpoints and voices to deepen understanding and confidence. Academic concepts are introduced after intuition develops, making literary analysis feel natural and accessible.
Proofreading

Proofreading

I approach proofreading as a process of refining clarity, flow, and coherence rather than simply correcting mistakes. Students work with meaningful content so revision feels purposeful and engaging. We focus on improving sentence clarity, word choice, and readability while addressing grammar and spelling as part of the process. Proofreading becomes a final polish that strengthens communication.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I help students become more confident speakers by clarifying what they want to say and how they want to say it. We focus on organizing ideas, speaking with intention, and reducing anxiety through conversation and practice. Public speaking is approached as an extension of thinking and communication rather than performance. This process supports clear delivery, presence, and authentic expression.
Reading

Reading

I help students become stronger readers by focusing on meaning-making rather than compliance. When students feel bored, blocked, or unsure, we slow down, talk through ideas, and remove the fear of “reading the wrong way.” Reading is approached as inquiry and exploration, using discussion, questioning, and connection to activate comprehension. A supportive, patient environment helps students build confidence, engagement, and deeper understanding.
Spelling

Spelling

I help students improve spelling through practice, repetition, and personal relevance. We focus on words connected to the student’s interests and everyday language so spelling feels meaningful instead of abstract. By making spelling engaging and low-pressure, students build confidence and accuracy naturally. Progress comes through use, not memorization alone.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I help students develop strong thesis statements and organized academic writing by clarifying what they want to say and how to say it precisely. We focus on turning ideas into clear, defensible claims and supporting them with logical structure. Conversation is used to refine thinking before drafting, followed by careful revision for coherence and clarity. This approach reduces overwhelm and builds confidence in academic writing.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I teach vocabulary through context, imagery, and real usage rather than memorization. Students learn words by exploring meaning within sentences, paragraphs, and topics, supported by visual examples and discussion. Understanding parts of speech and context clues helps students determine meaning independently. This approach strengthens reading comprehension and expressive writing across subjects.
Writing

Writing

I help students strengthen their writing by developing precision, clarity, and confidence in expression. We identify vague language and replace it with specific, meaningful word choices that deepen ideas and improve coherence. Conversation is treated as the first draft, writing as the second, and precision as the final step. This process builds strong thinking habits and translates across all writing forms and academic subjects.
