About Me
Hi! I am new to Wyzant, but I have extensive prior experience tutoring. I’m a current medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine with a strong academic background and a deep passion for helping students succeed. I earned my undergraduate degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University, where I also worked as a tutor for a wide range of bioscience and math courses, including organic chemistry, physics, and calculus.
I scored a 527 on the MCAT, Passed USMLE Step 1 on my first attempt, and scored a 271 on USMLE Step 2 CK—results that reflect not just hard work, but a strategic and analytical approach to studying that I now enjoy teaching others. I believe that every student can reach their academic goals with the right support, and my job as a tutor is to provide not only subject expertise but also mentorship, structure, and encouragement.
My Tutoring Philosophy
I approach tutoring as a collaboration. Rather than just reviewing content, I aim to build a student’s ability to think critically, identify patterns, and tackle problems with confidence. I tailor each session to the individual, adjusting my teaching style based on how you learn best—whether that’s through visuals, practice problems, conceptual discussion, or test-taking strategies. I focus on making complex material clear, manageable, and (sometimes even!) enjoyable.
Success in challenging subjects and on high-stakes exams is about more than memorization—it’s about understanding how to learn, how to study effectively, and how to stay motivated. I work with students not just to improve grades or scores, but to develop skills that will last throughout their academic and professional lives.
If you’re looking for a tutor who is experienced, patient, and committed to your success, I’d love to work with you!
