Hi! A bit about my background and experience—I graduated UChicago with an undergraduate degree in math and a masters in computer science. Hi! A bit about my background and experience—I graduated UChicago with an undergraduate degree in math and a masters in computer science. I finished 21 math classes at the University of Chicago including 8 at the graduate level. During grad school I worked as a graduate researcher in applied math at NASA’s Langley Research Center. I have been tutoring for 3 years, and have tutored math subjects ranging from middle school algebra to grad-level category theory, as well as tutoring for Math Olympiad preparation. I was also a mentor in the University of Chicago research experience for undergraduates, and briefly worked as a quantitative researcher at a small trading firm. I run a startup at the moment and do this on the side mostly because I think it’s fun. Rate will probably have to be higher for subjects I don’t think are fun (trig/precal, non-Olympiad-level algebra).

Approved Subjects

Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I’ve taken several upper-division and graduate-level classes in discrete math, especially number theory, and have tutored it at both the Olympiad and grad level. I also was on the team of researchers that proved the first characterization of which point sets in the plain admit a 3-colorable triangulation.
Logic

Logic

I am familiar with both classical predicate logic as well as some model theory and (naive) set theory, and I’ve taken courses on both. My research at NASA also involved applying epistemic modal logic and algebraic topology to distributed computing
