Hello! My name is Tyler, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of your (or your child's) academic journey.

A BA/MA research fellow at The University of Chicago, I study Creative Writing: Fiction & English Language and Literature. Perceptibly, reading and writing lay the foundations of my wheelhouse. As a college applicant, I obtained a perfect ACT score and was accepted to eleven of the top twenty 2025 U.S. News universities. Having only recently gone through the college application process, I understand the ins-and-outs of what it takes to be successful in this battleground arena—not as it was years ago but as it stands now! I have brainstormed and edited admissions essays for students currently at the world's most prestigious institutions.

My previous mentorship spans a plethora of experiences including engagement through Tutoring Chicago, reading to children in Chicago's south side, and serving as a mentor through the Adroit Journal. I primarily work with ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders who are at the life-defining phase of their education. With these students, I review the full breadth of AP English, AP History, and ACT/SAT material, guiding my tutees to fulfill their goals and beyond. Further, I assist students from the ages 6-18, in a variety of undertakings that straddle language arts. Through my mentorship, students have won National Scholastic Writing Awards and gained acceptance to selective creative writing programs like Interlochen Center for the Arts, YoungArts, and the Adroit Journal Mentorship.

My approach to tutoring is simple: passion. I strive to identify every student's motivation, the thing that drives them profusely. What do they enjoy? What do they want? Why? Then, we fit those answers love into an academic love and utilize this newly-settled context to greatly nourish our success—together. For all things literary and historical, I am your best option.

Allow me to revolutionize your (or your child's) relationship with writing,
Tyler
