Hello!

My name is Kate, and I specialize in tutoring psychology, clinical social work, sociology, and related topics. I bring a wealth of experience from both the academic and clinical worlds, ensuring that students gain not only knowledge but also confidence in their subject matter.

I currently work as a licensed therapist providing clinical and forensic mental health services in Chicago, IL. My professional background includes high-acuity child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic mental health, hospital-based care, and private practice settings. I hold a Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in Advanced Clinical Practice from Loyola University Chicago, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I also earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work, with a minor in Psychology of Crime and Justice.

My direct teaching experience spans across high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, working one-on-one with students of all ages. I have served as an instructor for pre-med students preparing for the MCAT, where I focus on improving scores in the psychology/sociology sections. I guide students through passage mapping, effective highlighting techniques, pacing strategies, and approaches to various question styles. My tailored MCAT prep methods ensure students gain clarity and precision in tackling these challenging sections. Additionally, I’m well-equipped to assist students in AP Psychology or undergraduate coursework, offering personalized support and study strategies.

When it comes to teaching, I focus on simplifying complex concepts. My style is straightforward, concise, and practical, with a strong emphasis on creating an encouraging and supportive environment where students feel empowered to learn and ask questions. Whether you are preparing for a major exam, struggling to grasp a topic, or simply looking to deepen your understanding, I will meet you where you are and help you build a solid foundation.

I look forward to working together and supporting your academic success!
