I have extensive experience in educational support that highlights my aptitude for tutoring in English, reading, writing, and proofreading. Most recently, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant at Shearwater The Mullumbimby Steiner School from August 2023 to January 2024. In this role, I collaborated with the Integration and Support Coordinator and classroom teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs, providing tailored support in both one-on-one and small group settings. My focus was on enhancing sensory, social, literacy, and numeracy skills, which helped me cultivate positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Prior to that, I served as an Education Assistant at Hanalei Elementary School from December 2022 to May 2023. Here, I supported special education students under the guidance of the teacher and Special Education Coordinator, assisting in the implementation of their IEPs. This role solidified my understanding of individualized education techniques as I worked to assist students in inclusive classroom settings. I am committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for students of various ages and abilities.
In addition to my practical experience, I hold a BFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, supported by a Merit Scholarship. I have also completed 1,000 hours of Yoga Teacher Training, which has deepened my ability to work one-on-one with students and customize my approach to their specific needs. My diverse educational experiences have fueled my passion for tutoring, especially in English and writing.
