Hello! I'm Joseph, an M.A. student in the history program at DePaul University. I have experience tutoring in history (AP U.S. History, World History) and writing (reading comprehension, essay writing), and I’d love to tutor in Geography as well. I’ve always loved traveling and had an interest in maps since childhood.
I plan to pursue a PhD after my master's and become a professor. In the meantime, I offer tutoring sessions for 6-12th grade, undergraduates, and adults. History is truly the greatest story ever told. It's the story of kings and queens, serfs and the enslaved, ancestors and enemies—a vast narrative with countless characters across thousands of years.
As a master's student, I have written many essays, including many over 5,000 words, and I'm currently working on two articles for publication. I’ve also written two books, including a family history over 150 pages. Writing is something I truly enjoy, and I specialize in argumentative essays that present a claim backed by citations. I can also tutor creative writing, as I was mentored by a well-respected poet and have continued writing ever since. I also specialize in college application essays. I was accepted to 10 out of 12 schools I applied to with my essay titled "Puppy Graves and Horse Blankets on the Floor." It shared my experience delivering a litter of puppies in the Costa Rican jungle at 16 years old.
I take great pride in helping students succeed. I was fortunate to have wonderful teachers who motivated me to be where I am today, and I hope to continue paying it forward.
