Over the past 5 years I have been tutoring high school aged student athletes who need to meet strict academic goals while also balancing the demands of their athletic schedule. This tutoring experience was part of my role as a lead tutor for a nonprofit. In addition to this role, I also spent my last year at college tutoring for the athletic department, assisting athletes in a wide variety of college level courses. As a current CPA big 4 accountant, my specialty is math, and I also specialize in English (reading, writing, grammar) is supported by my 4.0 GPA in the honors English program at my university!

While managing 8-10 students needing 2-5 hours of work each per week, I have realized that typical ways of teaching do not work for everybody, and I think that my ability to relate to my students is what helps me stand out. I am a year out of college and not far removed from the classes that my students have taken. I apply real life scenarios to the problems my students are faced with, to help them not just complete the problem in front of them, but actually understand the topic they are learning. This leads to continued success rather than just work completion. I teach, allow my students time to analyze on their own, and fill in the gaps for a well rounded teaching. The most important thing that I emphasize to my students is that there are no stupid questions. Hesitancy to ask questions is a common barrier to connecting the dots for many students. I want my students to feel comfortable with asking me anything and know that we are a team.

I have 5 years of teaching high school student athletes virtually and 1 year of teaching college athletes in person. Therefore, I am confident that I can teach any method that best fits the schedule of whoever needs help.

Outstanding tutor and highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to find Ethan here on wyzant for an accounting class that I needed help with. When returning to college after several years was challenging for me, but Ethan was very patient, understanding and took the time to explain the concepts. In my first session with Ethan, I had a better understanding just from that one hour than in weeks. Thanks again Ethan!

Patient Tutor

He helped me a lot with an exam I was doing some last-minute studying. When I had trouble understanding anything, he took the time to explain, multiple times, the principles behind my practice problems and how to solve them.

great tutor

Ethan is one of the best cpa tutors. He broke down how to solve for annuities in easy simple steps that i will never forget like I usually do from a textbook for another lecture. He also walks me through anything and everything I ask.
