Hey there! My name is Drake. I have finished 3 years of my MD degree and have achieved a 265 on Step 2, Honors on all Clinical Clerkships, and was inducted into AOA Honor Society. I am originally from Southern Illinois and attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, where I graduated with Honors with a degree in Chemistry. I then began pursuing my MD degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Science and Medicine. I am currently dedicating a year towards clinical research in Dermatology, which I am pursuing for residency in the future.

I have tutored students from all ages intermittently for the past 10 years. I am most comfortable with Math and Science, and have experience teaching middle-schoolers, high schoolers, and college students in Algebra, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics. Many students have also sought out my guidance towards test prep for the MCAT exams and preparing medical school applications. I currently am also very active mentoring RFU students and often give away my study resources that helped me achieve over 90% in every pre-clinical course to achieve Academic Distinction and top NBME shelf exams and USMLE board scores.

Knowing the stress of medical education, I want to give to others the mentorship and resources that helped me succeed. I believe in translating complex subjects into simple, digestible lessons to avoid becoming overwhelmed. I also highly value the act of learning medicine through practice questions, applying them to real-world clinical scenarios to make the lessons “stick,” and using spaced repetition to help retain information. Others describe me as a personable, intelligent, and someone easy to work with! I hope that I can play a role in helping you achieve your educational and career goals as a tutor and mentor!

As of now, I am probably best prepared to help medical students, but I am happy to respond to questions about any subject! :)

M4 student proficient in Anatomy and Physiology
Biostatistics

Biostatistics

I have 3 years of medical education that has sufficiently exposed me and taught me how to apply biostatistics to clinical and research-oriented scenarios. During pre-clinicals, I received an A in my biostatistics course. Furthermore, my knowledge of biostatistics has been assessed through USMLE Step 1, Clinical NBME Shelf Exams, and USMLE Step 2.
Epidemiology

Epidemiology

I have at this point completed 3 years of medical school and am currently taking a dedicated year to conduct clinical research. As such, epidemiology is at the core of most of my day-to-day work.
MCAT

MCAT

I am a current medical student and as such have experience taking the MCAT. After roughly 8 weeks of studying I managed to score a 512 on the real exam (was scoring between 515-520 on practice exams). I am most equipped to help in Chemistry/Physics/Biochem as my undergraduate degree is in Chemistry/Physics.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I have 3 years of medical education that has hammered the concepts of pharmacology into my brain. I use pharmacology on a daily basis to decide on the best treatment plans for patients. I feel very comfortable and even enjoy simplifying confusing pharmacology concepts into easy-to-understand lessons that we can build onto together.
USMLE

USMLE

I recently sat for USMLE Step 2 where I scored a 265 after 5 weeks of dedicated studying. I also honored all 7 of my core clerkships during my M3 year. Therefore, I believe I have a fresh knowledge base that can help any student prepare for their shelf exams or USMLE Step 1/2 exams.
