I have sixteen years of experience with musical performance, thirteen years of classical conditioning for piano, and over twenty years of experience with composition, arrangement, transcription, and songwriting. My primary instrument is piano, and I have arranged symphonic, choral, string quartet, and piano pieces. I taught piano from 2018-2023, which was my final year at university. My youngest student was 2, my oldest was 52.

I was notorious for "knowing how to play anything I hear" from kindergarten through my last year in college (even though I was not popular). All of this stated, I am confident in my ability to read, write, and identify patterns and devices within a piece of music. I believe in not only the gradual release of responsibility, but also in the power of full immersion. I believe that in order to understand music, you have to actively absorb as much as you can.
As for my background with the teaching of English, in 2023. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in the Teaching of High School English. I am also certified to teach secondary as well as middle school English. I taught high school English alongside music theory for one year before I acquired disability. From classroom teaching, I found that the gradual release of responsibility is one of our greatest tools as educators.
I look forward to sharing my passion and knowledge with my future students.
