Samuel completely surpassed my expectations for my tutoring session. I was worried about my knowledge gaps, but he quickly put me at ease. He began our session by asking me what I wanted to get out of tutoring, what I perceive my strengths & weaknesses to be, and my expectations from him as a tutor. While we were doing questions together, he asked me to tell him which parts of the question stem to highlight as well as explain my logic for each answer choice. Doing questions with him was not intimidating because I could tell he genuinely wanted to understand my thought process so he could better help me approach questions strategically. After each question, he took the time to show me which key words/phrases in the question were most important and broke down how he analyzes questions quickly & efficiently. He took extra time after our scheduled session to go through my Anki settings with me and gave me tips & new add-ons to better optimize my reviews. He also helped me come up with a study plan/schedule that works with my needs and even discussed the different supplemental materials I have access to & which would be best for specific topics. I will ABSOLUTELY be continuing my tutoring with Samuel, and I feel more confident in my ability to succeed on Step 2 based on our conversation & study plan.

Knowledgeable and adaptable
I can’t recommend Sam enough. He took the time to understand how I learn and where I am at in my preparation for step 1, evaluated how I work through questions and made recommendations based off my study and testing strategies. He is extremely knowledgeable which he uses to explain difficult concepts in an easy way. He also knows what is high yield and how to be efficient with resources which was very helpful with having my exam date approaching. He also knows everything there is to know about anki and helped me with my settings and strategies to get more out of doing less so I wasn’t overwhelmed. I will definitely be planning more sessions with him
