Hi, I’m Shannon - thank you for considering me as your tutor! I graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington in December 2022 with major degrees in Information Systems and Business Analytics from the Kelley School of Business and a minor in Human-Centered Computing. I was fortunate and driven enough to be able to successfully complete my degrees a semester early, and can truly say I wouldn’t have been able to do so without both the patience I was shown by professors / my own tutors, and my personal experience getting to mentor and tutor others myself.

In this way, I believe that we all have something to learn from one another - regardless of age or personal background. Every student’s learning style, needs, and goals in the classroom is extremely important to me in creating a learning plan that is fun, comfortable, and productive.
I was a tutor for university business courses for 3 years, where I outlined course material in a manageable format and further broke it down into sub-sections of lesson plans. I like to provide students with a bigger picture that is broken down, in order to show them how much closer their goals are than it feels.

Learning should be fun, no matter how young or old you are. I learned this lesson as a camp counselor for 1st and 2nd graders for 3 years, and I’m so glad I did! I will always do my best to take the lessons I’ve learned from my tutoring experiences, as well as the 4 years of mentoring I’ve engaged in across university organizations and current company programs, and always maintain focus on ensuring that the student’s learning needs are being met and that they feel proud of themselves for their work.
