Hi! My name is Jellyxa (pronounced Jel- eek-sah)!

Born and raised in Chicago, educated within its public school system, and now teaching in this public school system, I understand the need for personalized academic support. A graduate of Princeton University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and now seeking a Master's degree in Science Education at UIC, my educational journey has equipped me with a strong academic foundation and practical teaching experience. I have been applying the content knowledge and teaching skills I gained during my undergraduate career as I now teach Honors Chemistry at a high-performing selective enrollment school to a diverse cohort of students hailing from all corners of my native city. I have thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of teaching and mentoring my students and my foray into tutoring stems from a desire to extend my impact beyond my classroom walls and reach even more students in need of academic support. I am deeply passionate about making science education accessible and empowering students who would otherwise feel out of place in the world of science.

In addition to my high school teaching experience, I have had the honor of working with students across a wide spectrum of ages and academic levels, from kindergarten to middle school and above. My commitment to education also extends beyond traditional settings, encompassing volunteer adult language tutoring and engaging K-8 students through Summer Science Camps. Whether in a group setting or providing individualized support, my primary mission is to instill in students an unwavering sense of confidence and self-belief.
