Hi, I'm Zoa. I recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's degree in Computer Science. At every stage of my life I have sought teaching opportunities: in high school I started tutoring students independently; throughout college I worked as a teaching assistant, and I was an instructor in a new summer program teaching underprivileged high school students about computer programming; now, I started my full-time career as a lecturer at a top 100 US university. I have always loved helping students reach those eureka moments and showing them the exciting parts of the material they have to learn. I look forward to working one-on-one with more students.

My success in tutoring students starts with my own enthusiasm for the subjects. My passion for both math and computer science has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the material. This allows me to explain the same subject in many different ways, according to how the student learns best. Additionally, I continuously evaluate their understanding to see if their troubles with the current topic actually stem from a gap in expected knowledge. I always strive to foster a welcoming, open environment conducive to learning. Guiding with patience and passion, I have helped many students not only improve their grades, but also grow to enjoy the subject that they previously found frustrating or boring.
