My name is Brandon and I graduated in 2019 from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in business and worked in the field for a few years, picking up skills in mathematics and English along the way. While I enjoyed my opportunities in the business realm, I always longed for a career where I could help others on a more personal level.
I thought about the best route to accomplish this goal and after a conversation with my high school English teacher, chose to begin a career change to teaching at the secondary level. I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a graduate degree in education with an emphasis in English. I can't think of a better career than helping the youth to accomplish their goals and seek after a bright future.
I have a few years of tutoring experience in math and English at the elementary and middle school levels. I have often worked one on one with students who have learning disabilities such as ADHD and dyslexia. I love to figure out alternative ways to teach a concept if a student is unable to grasp it via the traditional route. Some of my students that were trailing behind in their grade level were eventually able to not only catch up but excel and place among the top students in standardized tests. Watching students progress is the best part of this field and I hope to experience it much more in the future.
