Do you feel seen? Would you like to express yourself and feel confident in the knowledge that your audience understands every point you make? Whether you have an upcoming presentation or want to perform a full-length play, I want to help you achieve your full potential as a communicator.
Twenty-two years ago I began my journey as a performer and educator, discovering that through Theater I could gain the confidence to express myself and shine without fear.
I hold a BFA in Theater performance from Denison University and an MA in Theater History, Literature, and Criticism from The Ohio State University. I have also trained in Shakespearian acting at the University of Oxford and graduated from Second City Chicago's conservatory program.
My experience as an educator includes classroom teaching of undergraduates at OSU, coaching small groups of adult improvisors in Chicago, training Illinois Institute of Technology students in public speaking, and teaching educational science labs for six years at the Museum of Science and Industry. My most recent demographic of students is middleschool and highschool.
My teaching style is grounded in patient, compassionate iteration of proven performance techniques and communication strategies. My students gain mastery through exploration of concepts that resonate with them. We tackle problems that matter to them because that builds confidence and fuels motivation to continue growing.
