I am a Harvard College and Harvard Law School graduate, an entrepreneur in multiple businesses, a former large-firm lawyer who has taught at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles and Kendall College in Chicago, and someone who is passionate about helping others enhance and express professional and academic skills.

I provide virtual or in-person coaching and tutoring services such as executive coaching, editing, law school subject matter tutoring, and college preparation.

My style is upbeat and encouraging! At the same time, I will hold you to rigorous standards, based on your goals.

Highlights from my work include coaching a financial controller to enhanced executive presence and a CFO role, tutoring a law student from Fs to As and Bs, working with applicants to Ivy League and other top schools who were admitted to their dream schools, and coaching a high school student to a 230-point increase on the SAT and increased self-confidence.

I have been teaching unofficially ever since I was 2 1/2 years old and my little sister was born! I have been teaching and coaching professionally since 2014, including in private customized sessions with professionals, law and MBA as well as other graduate students, college students, and high school students.

In addition, I was an alumni interviewer for Harvard College for many years.

And: I love grammar. : )

I would love to discuss your specific tutoring or coaching needs and goals!

Career Development

Career Development

I've changed careers and started businesses, and can help you take these steps, too. I've helped managers move to the C-suite, helped students start businesses, and helped corporate workers reevaluate or change careers. Whether you need a new resume, enhanced executive presence, stronger presentation skills, or to think through and implement next steps as you start a new business, I have systems and methods to help, wisdom to share, and ears to listen. Onward and upward!
College Counseling

College Counseling

It is a joy to help students identify -- and craft compelling applications to -- the right colleges for them. I have helped students better understand themselves, understand who specific colleges seek, and put together total applications that show a student's authentic self beyond grades and test scores. I have been an alumni interviewer for Harvard College for many years, and love keeping up to date with what top schools look for.
English

English

I have always loved the beauty, power, and precision of the English language. Proper English can elevate your coursework in almost any subject, and can elevate your professional standing. I have worked with native English speakers and non-native speakers to improve their reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall English usage. I'd love to hear about your English challenges or goals!
Grammar

Grammar

I have helped others with grammar not only by proofreading their work but by giving them the knowledge to write and proofread their own work successfully. Grammar can be fun and fascinating. Grammar is about mastering tools to tell your story.
Law

Law

I tutor law school students as well as college students taking law courses such as Business Law. My focus and research as a Harvard Law School student were on international law and intellectual property law, and my first career was as a corporate, IP, and international lawyer at large firms in the US, England, and Germany. Later, as an entrepreneur, I experienced business law from the business side. Today, I teach Law in International Business for UCLA Extension, and love working with students on all types of law projects. Side note: I rarely watch TV anymore but saw a recent episode of the newest Law and Order series and had some significant critiques; the original episodes were a great deal more solid.
Literature

Literature

I have always loved the power of words. Are you working on reading literature or writing it, on comprehending books, or on applying to college? I became a lawyer in part because precise wording can change lives. As an instructor and coach, I help students and other clients who want to understand stories crafted by others, or craft their own. Reading has expanded my life since the age of 2, and it would be a pleasure to leap into literature with you!
Proofreading

Proofreading

As a former lawyer and as an entrepreneur and instructor, I know the power of precision writing. Flawless grammar, spelling, and punctuation elevate your written work and keep your readers focused on your ideas, not your typos. I proofread for executives, managers, academics, authors, and students to ensure error-free documents. Whether you're tangled in tenses or just need additional eyeballs on your final draft before hitting Send, I love proofreading and would love to help you.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I have always believed in the power of words, and love sharing vocabulary-building techniques with others. Enhancing your vocabulary can boost your reading comprehension and your speaking and writing ability. Determining the meaning of a word you don't know by analyzing it is a skill anyone can sharpen. Building your vocabulary can lead to better grades, and to more opportunities in school, work, and life.
Writing

Writing

Whether you are writing a work presentation, resume, college or grad school application, research paper, literary work, or blog post, I can help you uncover and tell a compelling, authentic, polished story. As a former lawyer and as an entrepreneur, instructor, and writing coach, I know the power of precision writing. We can move from brainstorming through writing, revising, editing, and proofreading in a process that is systematic as well as fun. Some say I could edit a dissertation down to a haiku if needed, and I'd love to work with you on crafting your story in the format you need.

By far one of the best advisors I’ve ever had

As my review title suggests, she was truly one of the best advisors I’ve had the privilege of working with. I only wish I had connected with her earlier, before submitting my college applications. Nevertheless, she provided invaluable feedback and offered insightful advice on how to authentically present myself to colleges. I’m incredibly grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking expert advice.
