Hi, I have over 15 years tutoring experience and over 5 years professional certified teaching experience. I have a masters in Math and Secondary Eduaction (high school) with Middle School Endorsements.I have been tutoring most of my life and come from a family of educators, I love helping students learn, grow, and gain confidence in content knowledge. My philosophy is that everyone can learn, if presented in a way that makes sense to them. In my years of tutoring I was fascinated by how each student learned in their own unique way, and through them they taught me to teach in new ways. When I am helping a student, I am seeing the material the way they see it and present it to them in a way that will make sense to that indivudal, and reach them wherever they are at. Growing up it was seldom that I saw other neurodivergent individuals in teaching positions, and even more seldom to see members of the queer community in those educator roles, and as rare to find an adult that would be understanding and accepting of students that were outside "the norm". As an adult, I love having the opportunity to be that person for others, and provide a safe and compassionate learning environment for all students.
I have taught students as young as six and students that were returning to college years after retirement. I have taught and tutored college level courses. AP courses (Calculus, and Statistics) , IMP math, IB Maths, test prep (ACT, SAT, GED, AP, IB), Ive taught the entire range of High School math topics (Algebra I and Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Probability and Statistics, etc.) I am also very well versed in Common Core Math and other math curriculum completing an independ study on it during graduate school.
