About Christopher

Bio

I am a pretty fun and laid back person, I try to find creative ways to engage my learners as I understand that focus and motivation can be a problem for a lot of learners. I have experience tutoring others for classes privately, tutoring learners with Autism one-on-one and in groups, learners with ADHD and learning disabilities, and teaching ESL to learners one-on-one and in group settings.

First and foremost I am a reader, I find reading is the best way to both better understand language, but also how to become a better writer. I have taken coursework regarding pedagogy of English teaching as well as lesson design and assessment.

Working at an Autism non-profit in Alabama, I encounter a plethora of students of various learning levels. Primarily I tutored college level learners in whatever classes they were taking at the time including biology, chemistry, speech, English, geometry, and algebra

Social studies was my favorite class growing up and before majoring in Sociology in undergrad I often read books and articles on history and politics. In college I tutored other students in sociology in addition to one-on-one privately. I continue my own personal exploration of social studies, history and politics.

I would love to have a video call or meet potential students or parents for coffee and explain my teaching methods and philosophy on learning.
