I excelled as an elementary and high school student in all areas. I’ve retained what I’ve learned and have the teaching experience that will enable me to help others learn the material.
2 years working as a TA at DePaul and working in the student advising office specifically to mentor students in improving study habits
My master’s degree was in political science and included political theory (philosophy), study of American domestic politics and foreign relations, and I took elective courses in sociology
While getting my degree, I realized that I enjoyed teaching and interacting with students much more than isolated research. I worked well with a very diverse population of students, who came seeking help with a range of difficulties that affected their coursework. It was a genuine pleasure to watch them learn how to be more effective students, to see the ways this transformed their approach to their courses, and then to see that lead to much improved grades.
