I am a mathematics and science teacher in the Champaign area. I can help you understand any math topic. One of my students stated: "Glen tutored me and helped me pass a very important math exam. Had it not been for his very patient manner, excellent explanations, and constant diligence in helping me work the practice problems, I would never have passed the exam. Math was never my favorite nor best subject, and he made it understandable., I would highly recommend him for his teaching methods, patience, understanding, and ability to repeat things in different ways, until the subject all makes sense." I had been struggling with Calculus I and found Glenn through Wyzant. He was a great help with Mathematica and at explaining the different topics of Calculus that I did not previously understand. Overall, it was well worth it and would recommend him to anyone struggling in Math or Science.
Glenn has been tutoring my daughter in pre-calc. He is very good at setting her off to solve a problem and providing guidance as needed when she is stuck. He guides her when she is stuck, not at every step. She has grown more confident and adept at problem-solving as a result. Recommended.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
