I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a degree in Finance on the pre-med track. I am completing coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, business, and finance classes. I am CPR and AED certified through my lifeguarding experience, which has improved my ability to remain calm and responsible in high-pressure situations.
I have several years of tutoring and teaching experience in both academic and leadership settings. I previously volunteered at Kumon, where I provided individualized tutoring in math and reading to elementary and middle school students. I focused on breaking down concepts into simple steps and building student confidence through consistent practice. My approach emphasized patience and encouragement, as well as adapting to match each student’s learning style.
In addition to formal tutoring, I have mentored peers and younger students through leadership roles in organizations such as CHARM, She’s the First, and Freshman Leadership Orientation. I have also supported my younger brothers with homework throughout middle and high school, which has given me long-term experience explaining concepts across different subjects. Most of my teaching experience has been one-on-one or in small group settings. Overall, my teaching style is structured, positive, and engaging!
