I am a second-year mathematics major at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a strong passion for helping students feel confident and capable in their learning. My experience in rigorous mathematics coursework has taught me perseverance and how to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I have extensive familiarity with AP and college-level material, having passed multiple AP exams in high school, including AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP World History, AP U.S. History, AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP English Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, AP Drawing, and AP 2D Design. Completing a wide range of demanding AP courses has given me a well-rounded academic perspective and a strong understanding of how these classes are structured and assessed.
I have over two years of experience working with students from elementary through high school in both one-on-one and classroom settings. I volunteered for two years at a Polish school as an assistant teacher, where I worked closely with fourth- and fifth-grade students to strengthen reading comprehension and grammar skills, while also leading lessons and small-group activities. Additionally, I spent a year and a half volunteering at the Alive Center in Naperville, where I helped create a positive and welcoming environment by leading group activities for pre-teens and providing individualized tutoring support.
My teaching approach is patient, adaptable, and student-centered. I focus on building strong foundations, developing problem-solving skills, and helping students truly understand material rather than memorize it. I specialize in mathematics from foundational levels through advanced high school topics, as well as AP exam preparation and academic skill-building. As a college student, I bring a relatable perspective and understand the challenges students face, allowing me to connect easily with learners while maintaining high academic standards and providing effective, supportive tutoring.
