Hi! I’m Amara, a psychology graduate with a minor in biology, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have experience working with learners of all ages and backgrounds, from elementary students to college undergrads. My tutoring journey started in high school, where I helped students strengthen their understanding of algebra, chemistry, and biology. Since then, I’ve continued developing my teaching skills through both academic and professional roles.

In college, I worked as a teaching assistant for a behavioral statistics course and served as the lab manager for a social psychology lab, where I gained hands-on experience with research design, data collection, and conference presentations. Those roles taught me how to explain challenging material clearly and help students connect abstract concepts to real-world applications.

Beyond academics, I work as a Registered Behavior Technician supporting children on the autism spectrum. That experience has shaped my ability to adapt my teaching style to each learner’s needs by using patience, structure, and creativity to make lessons engaging. I’m especially passionate about helping students improve not only in science and math, but also in reading and spelling, which are areas that build lifelong confidence and communication skills.

Whether your goal is catching up, getting ahead, or finding new ways to love learning, I’d be excited to help you get there.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with hands-on experience providing one-on-one behavioral therapy to children on the autism spectrum. I specialize in using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to support communication, social, and academic skill development. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, which has deepened my understanding of individualized learning and behavioral interventions. My goal is to create supportive, structured, and engaging sessions that help each learner reach their fullest potential.
