I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University in Chicago (Class of 2014). My academic background emphasizes writing, persuasive communication, research, and critical thinking — skills that directly translate into strong essay development and clear, organized expression. Throughout my education and professional career, writing has been a consistent strength, and I enjoy helping students turn their ideas into structured, confident work.
For the past year, I have worked as a paraprofessional in a high school setting, supporting students across subjects with a focus on writing, reading comprehension, assignment completion, and study skills. Prior to that, I served as a substitute teacher at my former high school for three years, working primarily with high school students in classroom environments. My experience includes one-on-one support, small group instruction, and helping students manage long-term assignments by breaking them into manageable steps. In addition, I volunteered with Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, where I worked with middle school students on weekends to provide homework assistance, resume writing support, and interview preparation.
My tutoring approach combines strong writing instruction with executive function coaching. I help students brainstorm, organize essays, strengthen arguments, and refine their voice while also building practical systems for planning, time management, and task initiation. Having personally navigated ADHD, I understand how overwhelming school can feel for capable students who struggle with focus or follow-through. While I specialize in English and essay writing, I also enjoy supporting students in history, social studies, psychology, philosophy, economics, and other humanities subjects. I strive to create a structured, supportive environment where students feel understood, build confidence, and develop strategies they can carry with them long after our sessions end.
