I love helping people and I often encounter myself doing so. Currently, I am studying a Bachelors of Science in Biology at Olivet Nazarene University. My dream is to become a physician, but for right now, I also would like to help others with the talents and passions I have. Spanish and Music have been formative for me and I would love to share those with whomever wants them. Before moving to the States, I worked with the Department of Education of Puerto Rico as a tutor over the summers, covering the subjects of: Spanish, Science, and Fine Arts (Music in my case); and it was an enriching experience. I have found that one of the most amazing experiences is to see a student succeed in anything they want to achieve.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico; Spanish is my first language. I am passionate about Spanish and being bilingual I understand and appreciate the importance of learning another language. I studied advance composition and Spanish literature back in Puerto Rico and currently I am a Spanish tutor at Olivet Nazarene University for all the Spanish students, either majoring or minoring in the subject. I have been working there for the last 3 years.
In my education back home I had the opportunity of studying in the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, in which I took classes such as: musical theory, musicianship, harmony classes, with a focus on the tenor saxophone (being this one my applied instrument). I have been performing saxophone for the last 12 years and it is certainly one of my passions.
I enjoy having fun while I learn and having conversations with my mentors–in the same way I would like for my students to feel comfortable learning and practicing in whichever it is that they need to improve. I want to be focus in a specific goal at a time and with patience we can fulfill it. Learning is a process and I will be happy to go through it with you.
